YouTube claims that it has 50 million YouTube Premium and YouTube Music users but does split out how many are Music or Premium subscribers, or how they use it. Integrations and support for conventional HiFi systems is poor and Sonos users will have to connect via the Sonos app rather than via YouTube Music. Integrations to Google’s ecosystem of Android based applications and smart devices using Google Assistant have improved and are now good but YouTube Music seems to trail behind the more innovative efforts of Spotify and others. The early versions of YouTube Music had less functionality than Google Play Music and Google came in for a lot of criticism from Google Play Music users. Google closed down its Google Play Music service at the end of December 2020 and migrated its users and content to YouTube Music. As YouTube Premium is only £2 per month more than a YouTube Music subscription and you get the full set of YouTube benefits it makes sense to go with the YouTube Premium package especially if you value video over audio content. YouTube Premium is £11.99/month and £17.99 for a family subscription (up to 6 family members) and YouTube Music is £9.99/month and £14.99/month for a family subscription. In June 2018, Google (the owners of YouTube) relaunched the service as YouTube Premium which contained YouTube and YouTube Music and a standalone subscription to YouTube Music. The original version of YouTube Music was launched in November 2015 together with a premium subscription, YouTube Red, which covered all of the YouTube platform including the Music app. Wish nothing but the best for them, but danm does Youtube Music sound appealing when so many talk about it, the sound and variety etc.Lacks advanced features of other streamers Only thing Spotify can do is just step up. So how do the jump? If its easy sure, but to add all over again by click is somethimg most will not do ir very least hate to do. Only problem like is how to transfer all songs from Spotify to Youtube. Youtube which primary focus video entertainment. Spotify sounds good, but as top used music streamer service you expect them to be the best or atleast better than Youtube. Im still for quality, not naive to aknowledge something better or change. I love Spotify had it for 10 years suprisingly, but kinda sad a site which is primary focus is not music being better than them. I felt it same m, like it clearer, louder and richer on Youtube, but its a small difference. Wanted to see if anyone else had noticed this issue of spotify being quiet compared to youtube. Im thinking of switching after all these years but couldnt find anything online really talking about this. I also compared downloaded songs and still once again youtube was much louder. Even with these settings youtube still sounded better. I have spotify quality settings set to "very high" on wifi and cellular streaming and i turned off the auto adjust quality setting to ensure the quality wasnt dropping due to weaker connections. I compared quite a few songs and came to the same conclusion. Yet when i play youtube music in my car at at the same set volume, youtube music is much louder and has deeper and richer bass. Youtube's sound quality maxes out at 256kbps and spotify maxes out at 320kbps. This is contrary to the information i found researching. Ive always used spotify premium for years but the other day i tested out youtube music and found the sound quality to be much better.
